Re: damaged heart, planned fast to completion.

Hi Trimnut,

Yes i believe i was very near to fasting about 6 weeks ago when this occured so it seems in all likelihood to have set me back.

"What created you initial heart weakness?
What remediation were you using?"

I believe before the moment i hit 102% of my max heart rate, my heart was in absolutely exemplary condition, especially having fasted to completion about 7.5 months earlier which increased it and my overall well being greatly.

Had my heart been in any way unhealthy before this moment, i don't believe i could have pushed so hard in the 200 previous cardio sessions over 12 months and felt so good during and afterwards and perhaps most importantly from a scientific perspective, i don't believe it would have been possible to have had the exceptional 50-58 bpm recovery after 1 minute rest each time. My heart's ability to recover so quickly from intense exercise was as clear evidence of an extremely healthy heart as there can be.

Now i am an anomoly. A guy with great health and overall fitness with the exception of a badly damaged heart. Embarassed Nevertheless, I remain highly optimistic that a fast to completion will heal it completely.

Thank you for your support and good wishes, it is very much appreciated Smile

Update:
5.3 days now and coasting. So near to the first 7 days. Laughing

Embracing the fasting symptoms which include feeling a little weak and having keto mouth. Last nite at bedtime i was feeling a minor aching in the backs of my upper legs. That's a new one for me. It's gone for now but i suspect i haven't seen the last of it. But on the positive side i am walking in an immense state of calm. Well all of it is positive to me since it all signifies that good things are happening.

Even if i decided i wanted to eat (which i almost certainly wouldn't anyway though the strong temptation is never too far away), the seriousness of my heart condition is keeping me in the game, virtually assuring my cooperation until completion is achieved. My laying down relaxing heartrate would normally be about 40 at this stage in a fast, but it is now 60-63.
