As far as probiotics, yes they are very important. Some are better than others and people need to try what works for them in this regard.
Cultured vegetables work well and if you are still in a cleansing mode I highly recommend getting something with L. Sporenges in it. Paul Pitchford also recommends this strain as it works wonders. It is the key strain in high priced formulas such as Threelac.
Soil based organisms also do well but it is important to get a clean source.
