Replacing salt with Mag or potassium chloride?

Speaking of getting started, I've been having a rough time with the salt loading drastically worsening my pms.

I read elsewhere on CZ that it is the chloride, not the sodium that matters... Has anyone tried using one of the other chlorides (magnesium chloride or potassium chloride)?

How would you dose this?

I found a liquid form of mag chloride at vitacost- one half teaspoon is 66.5 mg magnesium chloride.

Thanks
