Re: Lakanto

A little more on raffinose and candida from a Japanese study (which explains the slightly skewed English):

"The number of patients with allergies such as bronchial asthma or atopic dermatitis (AD) has increased these days. Raffinose (I), an oligosaccharide contained in many plants, has been clarified by recent clinical studies to have improving effects for AD. This paper introduces physiological effects of I. Since the antifungul-agent-like action was considered at first as a mechanism of the effects of I to imprve AD, its action to the candida in the intestine was examined. We administered the solution of cultured Candida albicans to a rat, bred it with basic food for a week, prepared and examined a candid-fixed model rat. As a result, it was clarified that oral administration of I suppressively would affect the candida in the intestine."

Not a personal endorsement, just continuing with the theme of the thread. I'm gonna try this stuff out, though. The low-carb, fat-oriented candida diet that works for most gets me nowhere so I might as well experiment.
