An educated man by MH
One of the most educated men I ever came to know...never got along in the corporate world....he spent many years in college, could get the best jobs; but could never reach the top...he learned that "ALL" corporate leaders in this world, "ALL" belong to the brotherhoods of colleges and he always refused to join those brotherhoods....eventually he just "walked away" from it all and found himself at the Salvation Army and that was one place that appreciated his education / organization skills that he learned from all those years in college and he has called it home for a long time now...he basically has nothing..a car that can get from point A to point B; if he is lucky that day. He has no problem sleeping in his car when he can't afford a motel room, etc......and he is HAPPY!
When he worked for the attorney general's office, XEROX, etc....he had plenty of $$$$$$$$, lots of people to BOSS around...but was never happy in life.
He sends me an e-mail once in awhile, usually intended to make a person smile or laught...passing it onward:
Happy New Year!

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world
weird.

The Salvation Army
Doing the Most Good
--------------------------------------------
I HAVE HEARD A LIFETIME OF OUR CORRUPT THE RED CROSS, AND THE DOZENS OF FOUNDATIONS YOU CAN GIVE $$$ TO TO RECEIVE YOUR TAX BREAK AND MAYBE 20% AT BEST EVER REACHES THE POOR PEOPLE.... I HAVE NO CLUE HOW GOOD OR BAD THE SALVATION ARMY ORGANIZATION REALLY IS, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND IT AMAZING HOW SO MANY OF THEIR VOLUNTEER WORKERS DO LOOK GENUNILY VERY POOR PEOPLE THEM SELVES AND USUALLY YOU ONLY SEE MEN DOING THE WORK.
I HAVE ALWAYS HEARD THAT WHEN A MAN IS DOWN AND OUT AND NO ONE IN THIS COUNTRY WILL HELP HIM, HE CAN FIND HELP AT THE SALVATION ARMY IF HE TRULY WANTS SOME HELP...I PRAY I NEVER GET IN A SITUATION THAT I WOULD FIND OUT WITH FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE...BUT NONE OF US KNOWS WHEN A DISASTER COULD MAKE US PENNILESS, HOMELESS AND NO FOOD OR SHELTER AND AMERICA IS KNOWN TO TREAM MALES VERY POORLY WHEN THEY ARE HOMELESS....THE WEST COASTE THE MOST TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF JUST BUSSING THE HOMELESS AWAY TO GET RID OF THEM..YET, ALLOW MILLIONS OF PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES ENTER AMERICA AND TAKE THE JOBS SO THE HOMELESS NEVER DO HAVE A CHANCE TO STAND ON THEIR OWN FEET AGAIN.
WHY? WHY WOULD A COUNTRY INCOURANGE 50+ MILLION PEOPLE TO ENTER THEIR COUNTRY? THE USA GOVERNMENT HAS PLANS AND THOSE PLANS DO NOT LOOK GOOD FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS AMERICANS.
