Here is my theory...
Greetings MH,
I just wanted make certain that you saw my post. I know that you read and respond to so many messages. I responded to your question that I cut/pasted from the original message entitled "Concerned about my 5 year old's dental health".
She is a little knocked kneed as well, a reminder of her ordeal as a 10-month old.
WHICH WAS CAUSED BECAUSE OF?
Greetings MH,
It was a terrible experience, my daughter's experience was the "thing" that caused my distrust in conventional medicine. I still regret not going the natural route first. But I'm filled with gratitude because she is still here.
In short, my daughter, around 7 months developed an infection on her cheek. It developed and got bigger so I took her to a conventional dermatologist. Remembering that now, I am upset by my ignorance and the pompous and ignorant attitude of the doctor. He, of course, prescribed a zinc oxide cream for her cheek and an antibiotic. I'm embarrassed to note that I asked the doctor, if this antibiotic was mild enough for a 10 month old, and of course, he assured me and said he has given it to his own children.
Well, I gave my girl the full 10 day dosage of the antibiotic like a good non-thinking ignorant person would and then her system shut down totally. The hospital did tests after tests, blood samples after blood samples, which were painful to go through cause it was hard to find her veins.
I finally just stopped the pain and realized she was going to die if continued that route. She was listless and stopped all development. She stopped calling out in the morning and after a nap and all she wanted to do was lay down. Worst of all the stopped nursing "just like that". That was painful cause she would just look at me, and I couldn't feed her.
I didn't know my narrative would be this long. But anyway... she developed rickets during this entire ordeal.
I eventually called our naturopath. If I'm correct MH, you don't really care for naturopaths, but was he suggested, after seeing her blood analysis (she was deficient in all vitamins and minerals, especially calcium and protein) the following: grapefruit seed extract, calcium supplementation, probiotics, yogurt, salmon and chicken.. That's all I remember. Well, she turned around within 48 hours, and I was and am soooo thankful.
So, having wrote all of that! I think her baby teeth suffered along with her leg bones. I think when her body became depleted of all calcium, her body started to take away calcium from her bones and teeth.
So, now she is dealing with another consequence of my ignorance. Well, I'm trying not to beat myself up about it. But it's tough 'cause right we can't even afford the dentist trip.
On a positive end note, I know something will give soon.
Does all of this make sense to you?
