Re: Epsom salts and ingrown toenail + fungus

 aking a shower:

1) epsom salt bath(soak for abt 10 to 20 mins)
2) Permasol (Potassium permaganate: use it to wipe with my feet, on doctor's orders)

Fun stuff, I love potassium permanganate. Got to be careful with it though. If using powder make sure it is completely dissolved in water before applying it. And NEVER get it near any compounds like petroleum jelly or glycerine, which are often both in lotions.

3) homemade concoction of honey + turmeric on bread!!! (I decided not to use the antibiotic cream... it just SAT on my skin and didn't do a thing. Bah! :P )

Fungus loves sugar, such as honey.

K see... my toe keeps undergoing this process: healing(pus coming out... protruding flesh starts drying) and then the flesh starts swelling again.

But then I realised today that it's the epsom salts which are probably making my toe swell. Any idea why? Is it cos fungus loves water?

That is going to be part of it. When you fungal infections of the nail you want to keep the nail as dry as possible.

Do you have access to something like Vick's Vapor Rub? The oils in this are strong antifungals. But again keep it away from the potassium permanganate.
