"As for the other poster recommending fluoride, I'd love to see the studies that conclude that fluoride helps strengthen teeth. The only thing I understand is clear about the effect of fluoride on teeth is that it weakens tooth enamel. Fluoride is a toxic gas, not an organic compound that provides any nourishment to the body."
The studies are out there; do a search and you'll find them. Fluoride is a naturally occurring element found in tea, among other things. Fluoride helps strengthen dental enamel when used properly; how fluoride is used (topically vs. internally) and how much is used (if ingested) matter.
It seems a little extreme to claim that fluoride weakens dental enamel when fifty plus years of use prove otherwise.
