We can rule out fungus, if this doesn't work

"Fungus Infection causes skin's shedding, redness, burning, flaking and rawness. Fungus Infection will be found in any areas of our bodies and it will include the following (a) dry scaly peeling lips (b) nail fungus (c) athlete's foot (d) diaper rash (e) under the breast (f) vagina (h) foot odor."

"The enemy of fungus is dryness. If your skin is dry, the fungus can not live."

"An inexpensive, effective and time tested remedy for fighting fungal infections is Boric acid powder. Why? Because Boric acid powder will dehydrate (remove water) and that it is less toxic than table salt and that's why it's used to kill all the yeasts and fungi that lives on the skin."

"Body oils, lotions and lip balms all trap in moisture and the results is fungal infection"

this is exactly what i posted earlier from my experience that oily/lotion doesn't make EC better, it shortens the peeling cycle(bad), sure it keeps the lips moistured but when the lips are dry is when the peeling cycle increases(good). so think about it anti-fungal creams won't work because they are creams they are moisturizers.

read the full article for instructions... i've noticed that dish soap has had a positive effect on some of you(dish soap dries the lips)... this is a more natural/safer remedy. i will be doing this.
