My experience has been similar, I've lost about 68 lbs. My triglycerides have dropped from 477 to 74. I also have developed a respect for my body that I never had before. I now realize that it was all self destructive up until I made those lifestyle chages.
It's still work, and it will always be work, but it's worth it. I ran a 5 mile race yesterday on a beautiful morning with my family watching. It's nice to feel good again.
