most of those reasons are probably allergies. I know some people get it with toothpaste or chapstick, once they stop using it, their lips go back to normal.

Also Cheilitis and Exfoliative cheilitis are different. Cheilitis is Inflammation of the lips. Exfoliative cheilitis is lips that turnover skin cells very quickly.

You would be the best of help if you could jolt your memory back to the night/day when you got EC. Did you come out of the shower and discover it? wake up out of bed?
