Mercury increased production of the beta-amyloid protein which causes neurofibrial tangles and brain plaque associated with Alzheimers.
This is confirmed by autopsy which show 80% of Alzheimer's patients have high mercury levels in their brain. Levels that don't show up on regular blood and urine tests.
There is a test called the fractionated porphyrin test for mercury and beta-amyloid tests for the protein that can be done while the patient is still alive and treatment can be recommended.
