Re: bile duct injury lawsuit?

I went in for what should of been a routine gallbladder removal. The doctor told me I would be going home in 3 hours after the surgery. Instead I had to spend the night because I was in so much pain. I went home the next day only to call the doctor back because I was in extreme pain. He told me to keep taking more pain medication. The pain was getting worse and worse..I was calling the doctor everyday and he said it was normal and to increase the pain medication. On the 5th day after the surgery, my mother finally insisted we go to the hospital. After begging the doctor to do something, they finally did a scan and found out that the surgeon had cut the wrong duct. He cut the common bile duct. I was them taken to another hospital where I spent almost 3 months...9 procedures and the reconstructive surgery..finally I was able to go home. I now have filed a malpractice suit and just wonder what the success rate is and if anyone out there has been through a lawsuit like this...
