It is very confusing but once you understand what Moreless teaches here, it will finally make sense and you can look at your lifestyle and be able to tell what went wrong. Here are a couple of posts to use as an example of pH strips fooling our minds into thinking we are doing the right thing for pH balance. Hope it leads you further into your pH studies. :)
I couldn't agree more! Using an Atkins type diet for 6-9 months abt 20 yrs ago, allowed me to loose 80 lbs, and I managed to keep it off for 3-5 years.
However, I strongly suspect that it robbed me of much of my alkiline reserves. I ended up disabled 5 years later, due to an injury that shoud have vbeen easy to recover from. The original overweight and more crept in over time.
Then I got chronic probs w candida/yeast, and went back on hi protein because just about everything else set it off. None of the majic pills, whether prescription or suppliments, helped much.
The info here re: alkalising and NPN "funny" protein was a revelation.
I am now reducing my protein [meat and other] and adding much more fruit and veg. The alk drink and detox baths allow me to do this without severe probs w candida/yeast.
If I had known then what I know now, I would NEVER have got started with the hi protein fad!!!!
Hey LD Li, you sound like me. You must have used the old Atkins book like I did. It was worse than the new updated one because it suggested less fruits and veggies than the new one. I believed that doing that diet for one whole year, 6 years ago helped to bring on my MS. What fooled me was that I took my pH everyday and thought I had made the perfect choice because my pH strip was maxed out high alkaline.
People all around me are on that diet. They laugh if I mention my MS connection. I can't prove it but thats my story and I'm sticking with it until Moreless gives me a better explaination. :)
