Re: Quickie...Re: C is for Cayenne Tincture~!
This is it...
I did it! I grew my own habbies, from seed, in North central Pennsylvania, a soft peachy cream colored habby. I harvested at least 3 gallons of them (fresh form)...you were right Uny, the brown bag thing? they do ripen quickly!
On the new moon, I tinctured one gallons worth of the whitish liquid, it smells wonderful. A few of them still had a tinge of light green, but I figured to mix them in the end with my awful fire hot blend. Maybe it'll tame it just so slightly.
This is exciting for me, as I've never had this amount to harvest before, and I was a month late, in getting them outdoors, and in the ground.
I'm wondering though, what to do here. If we are to begin tinctures on a new moon, what will happen to the rest of my presently picked, green, but ripening habbies? They were not all ready to do. Will they hold over in a cool room, for the next few weeks? I don't want to waste them.
What if they begin to shrivel up?
I think I remember from somewhere, that it is okay to process them, at any stage, following their ripening... thanks for any imput....momo
