When friends and family come knocking...

I've told a couple friends and family that they should be prepared for an emergency. I've said they should have lots of extra food, water, propane, etc etc etc ready in case the continent shuts down. The same response comes from them all: - LAUGHING "I'll just come to your place".

They laugh but they are not joking.

This frustrates me to no end. I'm trying to prepare to help my mom, dad, and brother. That's the best I can do. It's the most I can afford.

Does God expect me to save everyone who comes knocking on my door? Am I a horrible person for wanting them to fend for themselves because helping them might mean my family would be worse off?

MH, what would you do or what will you do?
