For those who have experienced the return of genuine hunger after a prolonged fast and where digestion is at its maximum strength, wholefoods can be used for breaking it, but if this has not returned digestion is weak and needs to be nurtured back into full strength: this takes time.
Juice eases the burden on this weakened state of digestion and is easily digested.
Fruit is ideal as it provides carbs that are unprocessed and sugars in their natural state: mainly fructose.
The bodys main source of fuel in the non-fasting state is sugar: glucose mainly but any
Sugar will do so long as it is unprocessed.
I believe you are thinking of HFCS (Hight fructose Corn Syrup) which is unnatural and processed and decidedly harmful.
BTW: even carrots contain sugars which are essential for health.
Yogurt is not ideal in the breaking of a fast as this is a concentrated food, unless genuine hunger has returned.
