Re: The myth of chronic acidosis

Why is ok to manipulate the pH of the acidic parts of the body such as the stomach and skin?

Is it really manipulation or restoration?  The skin for example is naturally acidic.  But when we use soap it over alkalinizes the skin causing skin damage.  Therefore using acids on the skin just restores the skin's natural pH.  The same goes for the stomach acid.  Too often people do things that neutralize the stomach acid, which sets off a chain reaction that further reduces the stomach acid. So again taking ACV or bitters is helping to restore proper acidity.

A body in balance on a healthy diet and lifestyle should not need to do this. If you will say due to age, then why dont the other parts of the body get effected?

Other parts of the body do get affected, but it is from the interconnection.  For example the skin can age due to a decline is silica levels that results from the decline in stomach acid.  The thing is that many of these things can be slowed.  For example the stomach acid does not have to decline significantly.  In cultures where they eat bitter foods and seaweeds they seem to do a pretty good job of maintaining their stomach acidity.  And being that we are seeing more and more younger people with stomach acid deficiencies there is apparently more involved than just aging.

Once again the blood pH should be neutral.

Actually slightly alkaline.  Normal blood pH is roughly 7.4.

Outside of neutral is dangerous. The alkalzing proponents do not suggest trying to alkalinize the blood.

Actually that is their premise. They think that if the blood or lymphatic systems become too acidic that this causes disease. Here is one example:

"It is important to note that it is not the stomach acid that is the cause of most diseases, but rather the acidic blood, which reflects the state of fluids and tissues of the body that comprise over 70% of what you are."

Nor do they suggest alkalinizing the gut or skin.

And again Moreless advocated alkalinizing both.
