Re: Healing through fasting: Day one of ???
Thanks for the links. You are absolutely right. I really WANT to jump right into a water fast, drop my weight, regain my health, come off the fast in the right way and live healthily ever after.
It's not working that way. I did great the first 2 days then last night (ashamed here) ..I binged. I was SO HUNGRY that reasonableness flew out the window. I ate way too many raw cashews, a (small) bag of tortilla chips and....I think that was it. Which wasn't HORRIBLE, I guess, but I realized I need to PREPARE.
I've been looking up sights about RAW FOODS and reading everything I can.
I am DETERMINED to get well and whatever I have to do to get there is going to take time and effort. There are no magic cures that are going to cause me to wake up tomorrow morning being the slender 21 y.o. I used to be PLUS healthy.
I have to WORK at this.
Today I begin AGAIN and each time that I don't give up I am one step closer to reaching my goal.
My revised plan (for now) is to become adept at feeding my family (including one son that is borderline diabetic and another that was born with acid reflux) the very best diet that they DESERVE. (Now if my mother will stop giving them sodas and JUNK)
We had a beautiful smoothie for breakfast with fresh bananas, frozen strawberries, a splash of pomegranate and blueberry juice, a splash of almond milk, ground flaxseed and a couple scoops of green life. Yummmy.
Then for lunch I fed them (and myself) fresh sweet potato soup in a organic mushroom base along with a great salad that included seaweed.
My 7 y.o. is working on his, but he is on board about knowing that it is the RIGHT thing to do.
Sorry this was so long. I won't be posting on this board again for a time, until I am READY to stick to the plan with the fast.
I am going to look for Raw Foods boards to work with in the mean time. Thanks again for the support and CONCERN. It's nice to know that there are good people out there that care.
:) Penny
