Re: Blastocystis Hominis Nitazoxanide/Furazolidone/Secnidazole cocktail therapy

several yrs ago I got diarrhea on a trip to China. After yr self-med, diet, went to dr who guessed Entameba histolytica despite no pos. lab, got metronidizol - got ALMOST well, just couldn't eat everything. BUT in Apr 2006, SUDDENLY relapsed - had colonoscopy and test showing no pathogens BUT excessive B. hominis, considered to be harmless!! My present dr. (my old one left) in this small town, Roseburg, OR., knows nothing about B. hominis, has prescribed no Antibiotics . I have tried all alternative therapies, diets, cleanses, supplements, hypnosis tapes, more metronidizol (left over), expensive rifaximin (per SIBO theory, prescribed by my request from DR. relative) a few remissions, especially after elemental diet (SIBO/Pimentel). None of my fellow sufferers will be surprised to learn my quality of life plunged, I can never dine out in restaurants, hike, etc. Well, GOOD NEWS! For dental implants, I took 500 mg amoxicillin twice/day, got more normal - relapsed when course over. fortunately, I have a bottle of doxycycline given by pharmacist friend yrs ago - imagine, I'm taking that and again, better! I don't know how long to take, also am taking acidophilus perls. Can't seem to find non-prescr. Iodoquinol, recommended to go with Doxycycline. Am searching for non-prescr. Secnidazole. I don't think there should be ANY drug laws interfering with adult use.
