Cooking vegetables: which method is better at preserving nutrients?

Currently, I'm steaming my vegetables by putting them in a bowl(into a pot filled with water). It takes longer to cook and the vegetables are a bit harder after cooking.

Now, this is the other method I've used before. Bring water to a boil, throw in vegetables for about 30 secs to 1 min until they're cooked.

Which method is better in terms of preserving nutritions? Currently, I dislike eating raw vegetables 'cos most of the varieties available to me are quite bitter and I got a slight bronchitis attack while trying to eat them raw.
