Re: Tongue Question
I think with health it is always two steps forward and three steps back! I really was a huge fan of the ML drink. It really improved my health and my daughter's in the beginning. However, in the past 6 months I started to notice my periods getting worse (shorter span between cycle
This can occur as the alkalinity of the calcium hydroxide screws with the flora levels in the intestines. If healthy and in proper numbers the flora would normally break down hormone metabolites to harmless substances so they do not contribute to the hormone load and cause these kind of hormone imbalances.
and major cramping)
Excess calcium and lack of magnesium causes muscle cramping. To make matters worse calcium displaces magnesium. Women crave chocolate around their menstruation for its high magnesium content.
and my breast was killing me.
Again this could be from the hormone imbalances caused from the problems the drink would cause to the flora.
I was perplexed at first as I was taking about 1 tab. of kelp a day in the drink and I thought iodine should help this. My daughters cycle was doing the same thing. Then, the gas and stomach problems started and I started to realize that maybe this was starting to do more harm than good.
The gas and stomach problems come from declining stomach acid levels. The calcium hydroxide neutralizes stomach acid. This in turn causes problems with the absorption of the nutrients needed to form stomach acid leading to even lower stomach acid levels. As the stomach acid levels decline this leads to improper digestion, where the food rots more than it digests. The resulting fermentation leads to the gas formation. In addition the lack of stomach acid also allows for the overgrowth of Candida in the stomach, as Candida thrives in an alkaline environment. As the Candida overgrows in the stomach it ferments sugars again leading to gas formation and bloating.
I still wonder if the ML drink on a temporary basis but not long term. I have never had these symptoms before (burning mouth) but I am really anxious to get my test results back to see if that is the case. Like I said, in the meantime I am taking a b-complex supplement because I also read it could take months to bring it back :-(
You have to keep in mind though that B12, as well as B6 and folate are all acid dependent for absorption. If you still have low stomach acid then you are not going to absorb these B vitamins orally. You really need to use sublinguals until you get your stomach acid back up. And stay away from anything that will reduce your stomach acid like calcium oxide/hydroxide.
