Re: could this be a worm? - Tapeworms
Tapeworm. A tapeworm infection (fish or beef) actually only involes 1 "mother" tapeworm. A tapeworm does have segments and depending on species, you may or may not be able to see them. Each of the segments on the "mother" tapeworm contains both male and female reproductive parts. These parts mate, the segment fills up with eggs and the segment breaks away from the bottom of the "mother" tapeworm.
When a tapeworm like this dies - it dies from the bottom to the top. At first - small individual segments can be seen in the stool - much like what you described. Later on in the dying process - flatter and longer pieces of the tapeworm can be seen.
It is all the same tapeworm - it just seems like many. Some of them can grow to be 30 feet long and many pieces of long segments can be seen coming out in the stool.
The head of the "mother" anchors itself in the guts. When it begins to die - the head will try to reattach itself somewhere else - this is why some folks will feel a "pinching" sensation while removing a tapeworm during a HUMAWORM parasite cleanse.
HUMAWORM will remove all of the tapeworm including the head - it is VERY IMPORTANT that the head be extracted and killed - because a tapeworm can regrow itself from only the head if it remains in the body.
