Re: symptoms of adrenal problems?

Hv, how do you rate this test. I found it useful when i first suspected adrenal/thyroid issues.

You look into a mirror, and using a torch, shine light sideways on to pupils.

They should dilate and stay dilated, if they grow or fluctuate that indicates adrenal problems.

I would no trust this test since there are so many things that can alter pupil reaction including medications, nerve damage, eye problems, etc.

There is another one where you take blood pressure lying down then standing or something but can't remember it. These were on the Stopthethyroidmadness website if i remember correctly.

What they are checking for here is called orthostatic hypotension. This is why I mentioned dizziness upon rising suddenly. When you stand up suddenly gravity pulls blood away from  the brain and the blood pressure drops. The adrenals should kick in right away to push blood back to the brain. When the adrenals are slow to respond the blood pressure stays dropped longer than normal. In severe cases we feel dizzy and our vision blacks out for a short period. This is a good indicator of adrenal dysfunction.
