Re: urine therapy
Hi MamaCatPatch, serafina is correct in a way, its not so much about 'conditioning' it is about different societies having cultural taboos. Most cultural taboos came about to stop people engaging in practices that had to do with the health of the people, (such as incest, which can produce children with mental disabilities, and genetic problems) in some ancient societies, and even a few modern ones incest was common practice, in others it is a taboo practice. Certain tribes in Africa drink cows blood daily, many people are strict vegetarians, the thought of eating the flesh of any animal is repugnant to them.
In our society it is not a common practice to drink your own urine, or anyone elses for that matter. So because of our cultural upbringing we find this practice repulsive.
There is nothing wrong with that at all, its just the way it is.
Personally if people want to drink their own urine , for whatever reason, I say , go for it, knock yourself out, but I object to being told that it is a healthy thing to do, with no scientific backup for the theory.
Wether urine drinking was a sacred practice or not, is immaterial to the scientific argument.
