Digestive bitters are the best. When bitters contact the bitter receptors on the back of the tongue this stimulates the receptors. This in turn stimulates the vagus nerve, which in turn flushes the liver, stimulates bile release, pancreatic enzymes, and has a slightly stimulating effect on the intestines. They are sold health foods stores under names such as Grape Bitters and Swedish Bitters. Ignore the directions on the bottle though, you don't need that much. I recommend 1/2 dropper full on the tongue before meals. This will also reduce the bloating after eating. Drink plenty of water throughout the day when using them.
