Re: Water fasting vs raw

Because no atkins menu is under 1000-1200 calories. The carbs in calorie diets can prevent some people from switching over to fat burning. This is a reason some people find fasting with water more helpful than with juice. Calorie counting was never about "slimming clubs". Basic nutrition involves calorie counting. Good nutrition is about getting more nutritional bang for your calorie. That is nutritional basics. It has nothing to do with slimming clubs. If you look at most raw eating you will be eating about 1000-1500.That is a basic need number for most everyone and allows you to get in your basic nutrition easily. (macronutrients, vitamins and minerals)Another thing with atkins is that it keeps your body's water at a very low level just like fasting as it the body does not store those types of foods as easily. Also the body needs fat. Low fat diets are far too hard on the body.It can create Gallstones just like fasting.

When you body drops under 1200-1000 (1500 for most avg males)calories, after a period of time you body will read this as starvation. People on low nutrition food/low calorie diets lose more slowly than high nutrition food/calorie diets. If you are very overweight cutting your calories more than 1000 a day can also result in your body reading it as starvation. It is why you read stories of people who are obese and try to live on a 800 calorie diet that makes then stay fat.

"slimming clubs" also encourage fake sugars. I do not at all. The can create spikes in blood Sugar just like actual sugars/processed food..But then the body reads there is not one drop of anything good in that (calorie or nutritional) and it can make it want to store fat. (metabolic syndrome)
