What stuns me is that parents would smoke around their children. I am a smoker (not taylor made cigs, roll my own). Its my choice, but saying that I (and 99% of the smokers I know, would never smoke when children are around or around non-smokers (unless those non-smokers choose to hang around me, or come into smoking areas). Smokers are by and large a very considerate bunch of people over here, it seems that is not the case in America. SH and HOW, I feel sorry for you that you had such inconsiderate parents.
I have a severe allergic reaction to strong perfumes and particularly spray deoderants and air fresheners, which people lather on everyday, I wonder what chemicals are spread around when they spray these things around indiscriminatly. I react even when I walk into a room where these people have been.
Blaming smokers for peoples health problems has become the national hobby over here, having worked for many years in the coroners dept, I know that the statistics about smoking related illnesses and deaths are a lie. Its a smoke screen (pun intended), to move the focus away from the number 1 killer in our time, obesity. Better to blame a small percentage of the population who smoke, than to blame the 50% of the population who let themselves become overweight or obese. That would be political suicide.
