Re: --answer--inhaling 3% drugstore peroxide?
Hi chirontherainbowbridge
All your points are valid.
I don't know what the difference is between the way the H2O2 is used when inhaled and when taken orally. My guess is that the lung better process H2O2. See the following quote:
--Beginning of quote--
In the human body, hydrogen peroxide is produced primarily in three places: lung, gut, and thyroid gland. Because hydrogen peroxide, and the proteins responsible for producing other ROS molecules, are especially present in lung and gut, the researchers hypothesize that human diseases relevant to these findings would include any in the lung and gut that involve disproportionate levels of white blood cells, like asthma, chronic pulmonary obstruction, and some inflammatory gut diseases.
"Our lungs are supposed to be sterile; our guts are anything but," says Mitchison. "It's very logical that both those tissues produce hydrogen peroxide all the time. Perhaps in conditions like asthma, the lung epithelia is producing too much hydrogen peroxide because it's chronically irritated, which, if our findings translate to humans, would explain inappropriate levels of white blood cells. This is certainly a question worth pursuing."
--end of quote--
Given the choice I would rather use Food grade H2O2 than not Food grade.
I buy mine from sproutmaster, Ontario. Several months ago I bought several 1L bottles of H2O2 from Zeller's to be used for foot baths. I now used the empties for my own made from 35% food grade reduced to 3% or 2%, using distilled water. Those bottles are very opaque (dark brown) and strong.. Each time I use a new FG 35% H2O2, I make a batch of my own 3%. Also, I have several bottles for spraying that had originally regular H2O2 in them. They are now filled with my own 3%. I have one at work, one in my bath tub, one in my bedroom, one in my living room. Instead of using the purell gel I spray my hands with H2O2.
If you read the info from earthclinic, you will find that one of the main contributor does not recommend to use 3% for inhalation I think he recommends 1.5% or lower. For external use like skin, again to use a lower % than 3%. For internal use (orally with water) max recommended is 0.5%, could be as low as 0.05%. I have seen somewhere else a recommended concentration even lower. If I find it I will post it.
