>>>btw.. made some tincture outta the ground up peppers blend from Uny and it is way strong ...only have to take 1/2 dropperful of that ... whew! and well hubby can hardly stand that ..LOL!.<<<

If you make a tincture of dried African Bird Peppers and our powder (3/4 ABP & 1/4 Habanero), it will be VERY close to our Cayenne #3 in "hotness"...and very few people can handle that level of heat. I don't know if you'll be able to get your dad to use it :(

What you could do is get a bunch of raw jalapenos (or other 'hotties') from the market, 'detox them' with a bentonite/water solution, and then tincture them along with some of the dried peppers/powder.

For our Cayenne #1...what Willowley posted above....my guess, if you tincture 1/2 gallon jar of jalapenos, you'd add 1/2 cup of the dried peppers/powder to come up with a tincture similar to our Cayenne #1...you can ALWAYS add more dried peppers/powder later if it's not hot enough to suit you.

Since it's likely you already started it...I'd just go ahead and get a bunch of jalapenos/other, split what you started into two jars, and the raw peppers, macerate each jar...and take it from there. You can always add more alcohol to dilute it.

Remember, this is NOT rocket Science (you've seen the videos of Schulze making tinctures - he just throws the raw & dried peppers in the blender, adds a bottle of alcohol, whizzes it and "calls it done") - and whatever you make at home will be better than anything you can buy.

By the way :::wink::: 'how you lovin' that new juicer by now!? :)

Healthiest of blessings,
