Re: Liver cleanse protocol?

Howdy :)

So, I start off in the morning with the OJ, garlic, Olive Oil, ginger drink.  'Always a good way to start the day!  You can add as much ginger as you'd like.  Personally, I keep a pint-sized jar of ginger juice in the freezer so I don't ever have to deal with the 'ginger pulp'...as I like a LOT of ginger :)  I just run it under hot-water (or set it in a pan of hot water), and drain off what melts and pop it back in the freezer.  That's much easier for me that always having fresh ginger 'at the ready'.

15 minutes later I drink two cups of the tea that I got from uny.. (would I put the tinctures in this tea? or just drink the tea alone?) also, how does this impact my colon cleanse? I usually take my first dose of that first thing in the am..  As before, take the tincture separately so you can get all the 'bitterness' possible.

You should have your 'liver drink' on an empty stomach (well, technically, we should all have a glass pure water upon wakening) :

http://healingtools.tripod.com/thn8.html#livflush

Give the 'flush drink' & your liver 15 minutes or so to 'do their thing' (it's really cool to listen to your liver with a stethescope after a 'flush drink')...and then have the tea, tincture and IF#2 however it works for you.  The best thing about natural healing?  It ain't rocket science! YAY!

Here is where the confusion starts... what about the tinctures? I guess I thought, that I would do the tea/tinctures the same way I did the kidney cleanse.. put the tinctures in the tea, and drink it throughout the day. Can I do it that way? (obviously I would drink 2 cups in the morning.. but then, continue to sip it through the day with the tinctures in it)Or, am I only supposed to drink the 2 cups of tea in the morning. and no more tea the rest of the day? And, the only tinctures I've ever taken were the kidney one from uny, and I put that in tea.. so, if I'm not putting it in tea, how do I take a tincture? Sorry.. I'm like a 3 year old sometimes.. I need very specific instructions...Take the tincture doses separately throughout the day, you may have as much of the tea as you'd like.  http://curezone.com/schulze/handbook/detoxification.asp

The tea (I believe) was originally called "Digestive Tea" as it's taken from an ancient Indian digestive remedy...there's a few herbs that directly affect the liver, but the majority are to calm and enhance the digestive tract/system.  You may have noticed in the past, that when doing 'liver work'  the digestive system can become very "urpy & burpy" (from all the stale bile & crud that's being released from the liver)...that's why we have the tea.

You don't sound like a 3 year old!  You just want to know what to do :)  With natural healing, the important thing is that there is NOT a "persnickety prescription", what we need to know is what every protocol/product is actually doing - then it's easy to figure out all the details.

So as far as "knowing" goes, the morning 'liver flush drink' is actually a "mini liver flush"...it's got all the elements....citrus juice, olive oil (plus garlic & ginger - both are herbs/foods that enhance the flow of bile).  On the fifth day, you're ingesting almost 1/3 cup of olive oil - only 2.7 tablespoons short of the Coke or Clark flush.  But instead of just "hitting the liver" with it out of nowhere, you've gradually increased bile flow and flush power day by day...and you've given your liver lots of 'liver support' herbs to go along with the process.  This gets the liver opened up and 'flowing' for  the big flush  the next day (or the day after that).  And of course, if one is doing coffee enemas every day, "yer libber is lubbin' you" even more!

Also.. I know I need to eat apples, and drink apple juice/cider.. how much are we talking? one or two apples a day? or is there some standard quota?  There's all kinds of different "quotas" all over the 'net for "how much apples".  Malic acid in apples helps to soften the stones.  (Just fyi, I haven't prepped for a liver flush with apples/juice for years, and I've never had a problem at all).  Some say "a gallon" of juice or cider the week before a flush.  I think a couple of apples daily and a couple of glasses of cider or juice is plenty...and if you want to use raw apple cider vinegar (a couple-three tablespoons daily) that's even better.  Again, it's not 'rocket science'.  If it makes you feel less worried to 'drown yourself in apples', then do it (as long as it doesn't make you sick).

Then, there are castor oil packs... do I need fresh castor oil for this? I have an old bottle (probably 5+ years old..) can I still use it? or should I buy fresh?  If it's bad/rancid (like with all oils) you will be able to smell it! (ack!)  Castor oil is THE most stable oil and least likely to 'go bad'.   So if it doesn't smell bad, it's likely okay.  The most important thing is that it's cold-pressed.  It doesn't have to be organic, but it HAS to be cold-pressed.  Many will say "hexane free" (because if it's not cold-pressed, they use hexane to extract the oil).
I'm also planning on doing the first "big flush" on saturday night... I've only ever done the "coke flush" so I'm a bit scared to change protocol.. The only reason you have concern is because you don't have enough good knowledge (and you also have 'bad' knowledge).  Ultraphos (for all the oft-repeated rumors) does soften stones (like malic acid) ...BUT it has never-EVER been proven to dilate or relax the biliary network!!  So the only thing you'll be doing without is Coke.  And drinking Coke is like drinking straight poison :(  but I'm going to do it with just the juice/oil... can I use sunflower oil, rather than olive for this big flush?    (I just find the taste is not as strong as the olive, and it is much easier for me to get down) 'So sorry, Sunflower oil very effective for liver flushing.  http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=985358 you need oil that is both high in oleic acid and mono-unsaturated.  (See the middle column in the link above).  Also, will OJ be strong enough for the big flush? The best citrus is the citrus highest in citric acid, and I'm pretty sure that's lemon :) I usually use lemon.. but I don't think I could get 8 oz of lemon juice down.. and would think that grapefruit, grapefruit is fine, too or OJ would be much better. (btw.. I love OJ, but I always have severe diarhea from it... do I need to worry about dehydration? especially since I will be drinking OJ everyday?) I love OJ too, but it's got the least citric acid of them all - it's better than 'not citrus', but I'd go with lemon or grapefruit.  As far as 'taste' and 'getting it down' - the best solution of all is to add 2-4 tablespoons of ginger juice to the citrus/oil potion.  It's THE strongest anti-nausea herb on the planet (other than cannabis); it's taste overpowers virtually anything, AND it enhances the flow of bile.

For your big flush Saturday - read through the last of this post first (the info about liver flushing) http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1451318#i

When you do your flush, you certain can use 1/2 cup of oil and 1/2 cup of citrus and drink it down over 4 hours...but I don't think that's going to yield the most successful flush (per info in the above link).  You already know that you can flush safely without using anything to dilate your biliary ducts (you just thought the UltraPhos did that, but it didn't)...so you're fine there.  So you have a choice - 1 full cup of oil/citrus over 4 hours (which yields a small flush every time you ingest some), or use 1/2 cup of each (OR the full cup of each), and drink it down all at once (going to bed immediately) and release a lot more bile in a shorter period of time.  Since you've already proven you don't have any problem with 'liver flow', I suggest the 2nd option (using 1/2 cup each of oil/citrus, plus 2 tablespoons of ginger juice).

The thing that's highest on the priority list (since if I remember correctly, you're not doing coffee enemas) is to make SURE you have AT LEAST 3 bms the day after your big flush (more is even better)....so you can be sure to get EVERYTHING out of you that your liver released.  So if you need to take extra IF#1 to assure that happens, please make sure you do.

:) I am very excited to get started on the liver tomorrow! I'm making GREAT progress!!  I am SO glad to hear you're making such great progress!  (and I'm really proud of you for 'sticking with it like you have!)  YAY!!!!
