Slightly less than half of the cholesterol in the body derives from bio-synthesis. Bio-synthesis in the liver accounts for approximately 10%, and in the intestines approximately 15%, of the amount produced each day.
These are very small amounts of cholesterol, much smaller than that visible. Except in the case of cholesterol Gallstones which may be 90% cholesterol content.
