Re: New here, need plan to restore adrenal health before insomnia kills me, feedback sought
Hi. So sorry. You've been through the ringer, like so many of us have.
The longer you've endured stress and bad eating habits, the longer it will take to get better. I know this first hand.
It's taken me a whole year just to regain some normalacy of a 30-40% improvement. I will stay on the heallthy lifestyle change protocal, for the rest of my life to keep it maintained.
If you have a good naturopathic doctor within 2-50 miles, I would call them and ask how well they treat patients with adrenal and thyroid disorders.
Make an appointment with one who than is well knowledged. At least you can get your hormone levels checked.
Second, start eating a diet of primarily fresh or frozen ( not canned) vegetables and lean protein ( chicken, fish, eggs, nuts, etc.) Consume only good fats, olive oil, avacados, nuts, real butter) no juices at all, except
V-8 or juiced green drinks. Keep simple carbohydrates like pasta, bagels, bread, desserts, out of your diet completely. Whole grain, high fiber grains are better, like Shredded Wheat, 12 grain bread. Rest is the best thing you can do, when you can. Also, check into maybe taking "Anxiety Control 24" by The Pain and Stres Center. It's all natural, with GABA, Theonine, passion flower, magnesium in it.. But don't take it on a continual basis. It may help you sleep. I've been taking 500mg. of Pantothene every day ( taking a break from all vitamins 2 days a week, so not to build up a tolerance to it) Plus,
1-4,000mg. of Vitamin C powder in the form of arcerola C ( from cherries) Royal Jelly caps, Cal-Mag, Zinc formula and Omega 3 fish oil caps. It did not work overnight, it took a good part of a year to see improvement, along with rest, positive thoughs, positive envirnment and prayer.
Take care, Paulette
