I eliminated Coke and all sugars, but surprisingly I ate McDonalds almost every day! I know I should not admit this here. I would get two small hamburgers--even though I should not have been eating bread (that was just about the only bread I did eat). I would also eat steak--small portions--aim for the size of my palm. Ate other beef and rice dishes (Asian and Mexican dishes were my preference with cooked vegetables. My acupuncturist and other holistic practitioners are anti-raw food and I now agree). I did occasionally drink other sodas besides coke (coke was my addiction before so I would order something else. But this was just when "on the road." At home, I drank mainly water with meals.
I also ate a banana or two every day--strangely enough. I ate nuts. I also ate a lot of peanut butter! Not a great diet at all. Like I said, I ate MORE while fighting the Candida, bc my hunger had increased but because of the antifungals, I was able to lose weight. My DO confirmed that was true.
In the end, calorically, two McDonald's hamburger's is not really a lot of calories. Previously, I would have just never eaten at McDonald's but during this time, my body wanted food that SEEMED already digested! Like McDonald's or Peanutbutter. When you are fighting this, your insides are pretty sensitive.
I'm still amazed I lost eating as I did because I could never lose while eating healthy and dieting before. It really is more about freeing up your body of the fungus!!
