I'm Jack Ellis' adult daughter. I've gone swimming in the pool that Dad built indoors in his barn. It is full of his water. He built the pool and his hot tub inside the barn, so the wind wouldn't blow organic matter into them. The water stays clean. It makes my skin feel really soft. I wash my face with it and my skin is better than when I use tap water.
My Dad spends the weekends inviting family and friends to come over to his barn and visit. He is a very inspired inventor.
Many people have truly benefitted from Dad's water. It is for them that my Dad keeps working. I drink Dad's water, as do my brother and cousins. It makes me feel more hydrated than other kinds of water - even smartwater.
Dad has a full head of hair and has never claimed that our family founded Ellis Island. Sometimes when people ask how do you spell Ellis? I'll say, "like Ellis Island" to help them.
My Dad actually was in the Olympic trials in California but not in the Olympics. Dad started throwing the discus as a teen because it didn't require alot of equipment and he was fascinated by the aerodynamics of it. He realized that you could get more momentum behind the discus (and the shotput as well) if you did a turn before throwing it. When Dad went to the Olympic trials no one had done a turn like his before and Dad's foot touched the line of the circle you stand in when you throw. Dad's training buddy, Al Oerter, used the turn my Dad invented to win more gold medals in a single sport than anyone else had at the time that I met Mr. Oerter and his wife in Atlanta during the 1996 Summer Olympics. Oerter said he credited my Dad's idea with bringing discus and shotput into the modern era by adding a turn, which all competitors use a form of today. Oerter said in those days they competed for love of the sport.
Not everyone can easily understand the Science behind Dad's machine. He has been granted patents because his innovation truly is worthy of patents.
My Dad has had some of his competitors pull really nasty tricks to try to put him out of business in the past. He has won against competitors in court in the past.
My Dad doesn't believe in wasting time that could be spent on productive activity. His Dad always quoted Ben Franklin to all of us. There is only one of my Dad and there are many people who want to talk with him each day who appreciate what he has to say and treat him respectfully. His website http://www.johnellis.com
gets many visitors. I do not work for my Dad and I live in another city with my young family.
