Re: New here. Struggling with adrenal fatigue. Don't know what to do.
Hello friend...
You most likely do have it. You sound like me. I am wondering how you decided you have it; how did you find out; just curious.
I have used Dr. James L. Wilson's Book: "Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome". See
http://www.adrenalfatigue.org
I have also used his supplements, but now just use my own food supplements, diet and a few herbals.
Some people simply have to use glandular extracts to get their feet on the ground. His are the best that I've used.
You need to read his book. He teaches doctors how to implement adrenal rejuvenation.
The cause of the fatigue is usually ongoing stress, but most do not realize that stress can come from physical illness, infections(toxifing the body from inside) and toxins being absorbed from our living space/work place/bedroom/food/drugs. Candida yeast(dysbiosis in the digestive tract)if very often the main culprit, pumping toxic acetadyhide into our system 24/7, while consuming
Sugar and starchy foods just feeds it. (www.thecandidayeaastanswer.com) And don't forget to consider silver/mercury
Amalgam dental fillings. My wife can follow her neg. symptoms back to when she received her mouthful of fillings. For years, she would have panic attacks where her automatic breathing would stop and she would have to run outside and pray 'til she could start breathing again. What a coincidence that fresh air made her better. That there's a clue. I found out that my heartburn got better outdoors, too. Follow the toxins.
We often become "addicts" to whatever will perk us up, whether coffee, tea, caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, cigarettes, salty greasy high-carb snacks like chips or French fries. They stimulate cortisol release as does exercise, but it is only temporary.
You may get a boost from adding salt to your water/drinks in the morning and laying low on fruits (high potassium) until late in the day. This may help balance electrolytes. He talks about it in his book.
My doctor had me on 20mg of hydrocortisone (Cortef)for a while to nurse my adrenals while in therapy, but it felt so natural again when I stopped taking it. Over-doing the steroids will make your glands even lazier if you're taking much of it and not using something positive too, like glandulars...and vit C & B's. The more natural the vitamins, the better -- as in real fresh food.
It is amazing how many people take hydrocortisone without knowing it, for allergies, asthma...etc. I haven't done a study on that, but I keep running into it. Like the Nasonex add. the stuff is basically hydrocortisone. The truth about it is that more of us are low on cortisol/have adrenal disruption, than is professionally acknowledged.
So, read the book

Down-load the other book

And follow the toxins.
Sorry for such a long letter.
