I am leery of GMO as well. There have already been incidences of death from GMO products. Starlight corn had a peanut gene spliced in to it. Peanuts are one of the most common allergens and can cause deadly anaphylaxis. And this is exactly what happened.

Another problem is that bees can carry the pollen from GMO plants in to non-GMO farms cross pollinating other crops with these dangerous genes.

Luckily, non-GMO soy is available. And if people start refusing to buy GMO crops then there will be no incentive for the production of GMO crops.
