Re: CBS, snuffs a nightly news report midstream

I don't know anything about electronics or broadcasting, but isn't RADIO also analog broadcast?

I have a portable radio that was also made to pick up T.V. audio, so I assume that only satellite radio is digital. So what is this story that government gives about reserving all analog frequencies for emergency services?

Reserving the analog spectrum for the emergency services was the initial excuse being given last year, but now it is being told to us that is simply for "our viewing pleasure" (an excuse that no one would want to argue, let alone QUESTION).

Television is usually not "mobile"/portable (an IP address is more meaningful as to it's location than the IP address of a radio).

The cards given out by the government have a notice on the back that "THERE IS NO T.V. VIRUS" (I'm not kidding).

It would seem likely that the government (and hackers) could have more control over what each person sees/views (radio can't).

It has been claimed by some that a T.V. screen can also be used to visually monitor it's surroundings. Nine years ago, I had a friend who used to work with government surveillance. He said that "reverse polarity" has been used so that the T.V. would act as a "spy surveillance" of some viewers (and other people still make the claim of surveillance today even if the T.V. is OFF but still plugged in).

With digital control, could the television's video or audio be covertly programmed to monitor our conversations, property with RFID tags, etc.?...most likely.

Studies have also been done about the dangers to cardiac patients (especially with pacemakers) and the continued accuracy of medical equipment (so,...what benefits?).
