Re: Why does it have to be filtered water and what temperature?

First, about the temperature, I am amazed that at 26C (79F) you didn't notice it. I wonder if the temperature monitor on the system was defective? 36C (97F) sounds more like it. 37 C (98.6 F) is normal average body temperature, and I like to start off a session at about 2 degrees F above that. (1 degree C = 1.8 degrees F).

Depending on the the results, and overall condition of the client, towards the latter half of the colonic I may lower the inflow water temperature a few degrees to stimulate a release and cause the colon to contract to help tone it, but I'd never go as low as 26 C.

As far as filtered water, the objective is to insure that the water entering your colon to cleanse it is as pure as possible. If the water is from a natural well or spring, and free of contaminents, then that would be fine. But urban tap water typically includes chlorine, and possibly heavy metals and highly undesirable organic chemicals.
