Re: retention enema

It's often said that in order to achieve the best results from an enema you have to retain it for 10-15 minutes. From my experience, in most cases that is not exactly true. If you are using plain water enemas, what I suspect is probably happening is that during the enemas and while you are retaining, the water is being absorbed by your body through the wall of the colon, and later on it's finding it's way back into your colon and causing the later movement. I've personally experienced this myself in the past.

I would suggest that for your future enemas you add one teaspoon of Sea Salt , or even plain table salt , for each pint of water, or 4 teaspoons for a full bag enema. At this saline concentration the water is "isotonic", meaning essentially that it is neutral, neither absorbed by the body nor drawing fluids out of your body.

When taking daily enemas it is essential that your electrolyte levels don't get out of balance, and an isotonic solution will help greatly in preventing that. Your position is fine. No need to change that.

Best wishes for the remainder of your fast!

Valerie
