Re: I probably need an eye test - see edit!

Ha ha! No I am fine, but I thought I'd take the mickey and bring a bit of Abkhasian culture into the forum:
"In Abkhasia, it would be considered an insult to be told that you are “looking young” or that the years have barely changed you. People there compliment others by saying “You’re looking old today,” meaning that the person is wise and beautiful in their maturity. In Abkhasia, when older people lie about their age, they do not give a younger age, as is common in the West. Instead, they exaggerate how old they are, for this gives them greater standing in their culture."

I really do have an open mind, and would love to see some GENUINE research to show that milk, dairy, oil etc are safe and good for you. But I get frustrated when I hear that people have links with WAPF. The reason for that is the guy who died at 43 of a stroke wrote a terrible Amazon review (before he died) of about one of the plant-based books that was being praised by others. So I started to look at all the references he was quoting to back up his story, and I found a Lancet article in full. It took me about 2 hours to do all this, only to find that the guy had more or less lied about the reports findings, and twisted it around completely to say it proved that red meat did not cause cancer.

Then I read the stuf at Vegsource about their background and modus operandi, so I tend to rule them out as they wasted my time before. All I can say is when people write such rude, personal attacks, it rarely has good scientific foundation.

Anyway, if there is something good about meat, oil milk etc, it will be from more than one source, so I don't think ruling out WAPF is a problem. For me it's just a time saver.

I have not read the China Study in full and because the criticism came from WAPF I have not read that in full either, Nor Campbells rebuttal which he himself posted with reluctance. All I can say is there is a considerable amount of support for Campbell's theories and you don't see him get knocked by many other doctors.

But each to their own. Some people do clearly believe in Weston Price, so let them, it's up to them how they care for their own personal health. For me, at this point in time I tend to believe that the stuff on VegSource is generally correct, and stuff that comes from the government and food industry is incorrect.

(edit)
LOL! I misread your post and read "not impeccable", so all that I typed for nothing! It must be by eyes, they are not so good at 80 ;)
