Re: broke my fast with tomato juice. Sickkkkk,

Hi Gettingbetter,

Your words: "I need to add something to it. It was nasty going down and made me want to gag.

I cant eat fruit or any high gi veggies. Do I just have to "suffer" through the poor taste or are there other good tasting veggies I can add?"

With these limitations, breaking a fast certainly becomes a lot more challenging. When i am eating normally, tomato juice is easy, but sometimes i find certain raw juices being too difficult strait out of a fast and tomato might be one of them. First i might recommend watering it down as much as you need to. If that still makes you gag and as much as "raw" is so highly preferential, you might do well to cook your tomato juice and enjoy it that way. I don't think the live enzymes are a fair tradeoff for gagging. Hopefully you are able to enjoy the taste of other extremely low gi raw juices (perhaps celery, lettuce, spinach), and if not, you have little choice but to cook them too.

I know you said you can't eat fruit, but might whole grapefruit with a gi of 25 (but not its juice which has 48) be an exception? You said you can't eat high gi vegetables, what is your gi limit?
