Re: Low-carb diet and enemas

Hi, any good diet eventually results in a lifestyle change that is followed indefinitely for those willing to move beyond the yo-yo stage of diet, gain-it-back, diet again etc.

If you are serious about losing weight, it's a lot more than just "a diet". I have a lot more I would like to comment about this, but it is late and I have to be up early in the morning, so I will try to elaborate more over the weekend.

Your comment about being a slave to an enema bag brought back a memory of a quote I remember from my training by the late gastroenterologist M.D., Dr. Walter Alvarez, who was a pioneer in X-ray technology in learning how the digestive system worked from end-to-end.

Dr. Alvarez recalled a patient who came to him and described herself as a slave to the enema habit. He replied, "Far better the enema habit than the constipation habit".

Regards, Valerie
