look at the diet of the natives in alaska. they traditionally ate whale blubber and dipped it in seal oil for eating. this kept them viable as a population to get through the darkness.
maybe i should reconsider cod liver oil. my mom used to give it to us kids for a punishment. that stuff was nasty.
