serafina,
weakness is not related to having an enema or not. Either way you would still have experienced weakness, but most likely more so after an enema.
It was Sheltons experience and that of his contemporaries that enemas further weakened the body for someone in a diseased state and this would remain the case for someone who is in a relatively good state of health except their energy reserves would make it less pronounced.

The "feeling bad" would have happened: enema or not.
The infections you experienced afterwards would mean that your body was not cleansed, and where the fast was not of sufficient duration to eliminate your toxemia.

Shelton did indeed treat cancer patients in the early to mid stages of the disease and had much success, but he admitted at a later date that fasting wwas of little if any benefit in late-stage cancers.

There are many contrasting opinions re' the fast and the fasting process, but I tend to rely on those with the most experience such as Shelton and Tilden and the early pioneers; unfortunately nothing really compares today with their volume of experience in all states of health and disease as far as the fast is concerned.

Water fasting should be seen as a natural process (which it is) and where the discomforts that arise, and their degree of severity indicate the need: the worse the symptoms of detox, then the more need for the fast in the first place.
Water fasting is not a challenge for the body, but Natures very own method of overcoming sickness/disease; it is a very pleasant and enlightening experience for those who are virtually free of toxemia, and this was my own experience on my second Water Fast of 30 days.

Regards
