Looking out into our present society for assitance can be helpful, but it can also be confusing. Since we dont live in a particularly healthy era we often find missmotivated help, the emotionally disabled trying to help themselves by thinking they are helping others.
Many who have tried the psy advisors have positive things to say, many have negative things to say. Usually councillors of all traditions are most helpful when rather than telling us abstact, grandiose or uncomfortable advice, they prod us to listen to what we already know and arent quite ready to fully admit to ourselves.
When circumstances seem hard it is often that the process of living is being made more evident to us.
Rather than a sign of error it can be a sign of growth, a molting of what is now old, exposing fresh new oportunities.
I find that unless the concept of the divine/higher powers/god is repugnant to us, asking for assitence from such powers in finding a text and visiting a library or bookstore can reveal new understandings to quench the burn of growth so that instead of denying or avoiding, it can be understood in a healthy way.
Since you are reaching out and attempting to find peace, Id say you are on the right track, no matter how confusing it is right now. It is a personel track tho and no one who has really gotten onto the track of living peacefully will try to force you into a certain belief structure or tell you there is some prescribed route of behavior. Like a toddler learning to walk, we fall and keep getting up again, and when we cease being angry and no longer let fear control us we walk and then we start the process of learning to run and after that flying lessons appear.
