Re: Milk or no milk? (edit2)

Thanks, when searching for the history of milk, I did read that goat's milks was probably one of the earliest we used:
http://www.madehow.com/Volume-4/Milk.html
"History
The use of milk as a beverage probably began with the domestication of animals. Goats and sheep were domesticated in the area now known as Iran and Afghanistan in about 9000 B.C., and by about 7000 B.C. cattle were being herded in what is now Turkey and parts of Africa. The method for making cheese from milk was known to the ancient Greeks and Romans, and the use of milk and milk products spread throughout Europe in the following centuries."
And that is actually how I found the No Milk page. However I have no intention of drinking it any more. From what you say I might try and milk a goat if I was on a desert island with a motherless child, but I am fairly unlikely to encounter that situation, and I can't see any point in buying cow or goat's milk any more from the supermarket. It just seems rather silly when you think about it, given the wealth of modern medical research (as distinguished from habit, industry sponsorship and TV advertising). Oops! Sorry Cow and Gate. I have a brain.

Oh god... Yuck! http://www.cowandgate.co.uk/
"A world of expert advice, information and nutritional guidance to support you and your baby from pregnancy to parenthood"

Good for population control I suppose, and for the pharmaceutical industry. Doesn't appeal to me though, and I don't think I could even respect someone that believed in that crap.

This is the problem when you try to find the truth, you become alienated from "normal" people, and feel lonely in your beliefs. However I still prefer the red pill.

"Growing babies and toddlers need the right balance of vitamins and nutrients to grow up happy and healthy. That’s why Cow & Gate milks and foods have been specially tailored to give them the nutrition they’ll love at each stage of their development. If you’ve ever got any questions about feeding your baby or about our milks or foods, our baby feeding advisors are here to help."

You are then invited to phone, email or live chat with "Marilyn, baby feeding advisor and mum"

Just below that you are told, under the heading "Feeding for Life" -
"The milk and food you give your baby for their first 3 years of life are essential for their growth and development, and for establishing the foundations for lifelong healthy eating habits. That’s why Cow & Gate is devoted to helping you feed your baby the right nutrition at each stage of their development."

And below that are pictures of eleven Cow & gate products which they describe as "baby milks" and "baby food"

I can even see the sad irony in this, if women lose their breasts due to cancer, after eating too much dairy. Sigh!
