Re: look what man hath wrought

As much as I would dearly love to tour that "big boat", I must say that your post really strikes the heart. (The romantic in me loves the movie so much I bought it and have watched it many times over).

I was just in the grocery store this morning. Man's desire to "outdo" God had me really really sad. Made me wish we could just start over...new world...all that jazz!

"DO OVER!"

I mean, I really wanted to cry just looking at all the crap, and then repenting because even though I knew it was all crap and put together to line someone's pockets - I wanted it.

Just like the absurdity of the Titanic with all her luxuries and opulence, it still strikes a wonder with mankind...which includes myself.

I think it's why I enjoyed the Star Trek series so much. (Well, at the least the "next generation" version)...

Man has the capability of using his brain to design technology for the GOOD of mankind, the curiosity of mankind, the 'boldly going forth and seeking out and discovering' side of man. The characters in that show had mentioned many times how man got rid of the money system...and lived fairly. Lofty and desirable goals.

But, we always end up wanting MORE with that da_n greed and need for power and control that gets in the way. The need to compete, to be "better than", it just gets so freaking OLD!
