Re: a french canadian perspective

I don't think I mentioned anything about herd mentality????
With good gun control laws, the chances of you having a gun in your face at all is pretty low, besides if someone has a gun in your face and you pull out your own, it becomes a lose/lose situation if either starts firing.

I was watching an american court show with a friend a couple of weeks ago. It was about a family dispute over who should pay for damage done to a car. When describing how the car was damaged in the first place it was said by the plaintiff that the car was damaged at the local 7/11 in a drive by shooting. My friend and I looked at each other in shock, A DRIVE BY SHOOTING !!!!! This seemed to be less important than who was going to pay the $1000 bucks damage done by the bullets. WTF is going on over there, a drive by shooting here would have made national headlines, even if no-one was injured!!!! The people involed in this incident seemed to think that this was an everyday occurance. It made my friend and I very glad that we live in a country where very few people are armed.
