He is a clever businessman, I have never seen him say he has a "magic wand" and he doesn't try to call his diet "the Fuhrman plan" or anything, like Atkins did. He just says people should look for high nutrient foods, and talks a lot about it in his book "Eat for Health". I agree that's what people should do. However I also agree that many of his supplements are unnecessary. But I find that he is at least truthful, in many of his radio broadcasts he says they are not needed if you keep to a healthy diet. Remember he's not a just a nutritionalist, he is a qualified doctor, and a lot of the people that phone in have actually reversed diseases and illnesses. To me, that's the proof. I don't think that is staged, because also he generally agrees with other doctors who have had similar successes. Some can be seen in the video clip below.
Actually, Milton Mills MD has just answered a thought I have been having about eating raw potatoes in that clip, that was handy. But I digress.
Anyway the point is I don't think any of his supplements are necessary for the vast majority of people, but if people out there want to throw money at him - well I guess that's not a problem for him. I'd probably do the same if I were in his shoes. I'd rather they throw money at me than another health food company, or even worse, the pharmaceutical industry.
I agree with you on seasonal veg, but what is natural seasonal food? The stuff we have nowadays is nothing like what our ancestors ate (listen to Milton Mills' potato example).
I still don't know the answers, but I think Fuhrman and others like him at that Expo conference are on roughly the right heading.
Having said that if you can find anything concrete that indicates he is not genuine, then as a "nutritarian" I'd be interested of course! A quick google search for "doctor fuhrman" and honest gives 61 results at time of writing, http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22doctor+fuhrman%22+honest
whereas "doctor fuhrman" and liar gives 1 result in Japanese http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22doctor+fuhrman%22+liar
which is too large to translate. (edit) 2 results now, including this one. Google seems to be pretty fast at picking up on curezone.
